Government Relations Institute of Canada Platform Infrastructure & Data Residency
The Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC) is a national professional association representing government relations and public affairs professionals working across Canada and at all levels of government. Its members come from a broad range of sectors, including corporations, trade associations, charities, NGOs, universities, consulting firms, and legal firms. GRIC works to advance the government relations profession, promote high standards of professional conduct, and support the role its members play in Canada's democratic process. GRIC uses Members Village as membership software for professional & advocacy associations, providing the system used to administer membership information and related association activities. The information below describes the platform infrastructure, data hosting, privacy-supporting functionality, and security practices relevant to that use. It is provided as general information and does not replace GRIC’s privacy policy, membership terms, professional requirements, payment terms, or other notices governing its programs, events, communications, services, or transactions.
Core Infrastructure
Infrastructure operations adhere to the following protocols:
- Data Residency:
Primary databases, container clusters, and automated snapshots reside exclusively in Canadian data centers (Toronto, ON). - Network & Storage Encryption:
Enforced HTTPS (TLS 1.3/1.2) in transit; AES-256 data encryption at rest. - Access Controls:
Zero-trust architecture with MFA and SSH key authentication restricted to authorized system engineers.
Third-Party Integrations: Where Government Relations Institute of Canada enables specialized external tools (e.g. embedded video streaming), data processed by those specific tools is subject to their agreements.
